About VMAA

This began as a small group many years ago and was known as the ‘old boys association’. It was in 1978 that it took a shape and was rechristened as Vidya Mandir Alumni Association and organised one of the largest fund raisers of that time. In 1980 Vidya Mandir had a weeklong celebration for their 25th year and the VMAA contributed by organising the first ever inter – school culturals called ‘REFLECTIONS 25’. Today the VMAA is a registered body with office bearers who have colourful report cards and many years of mischief under their belts.

  • The Inter School State Level Volleyball Tournament – This is organised in our school every year for boys and girls and is one of the most popular tournaments in the city.
  • Every year we have a blood donation drive where the willing donate blood to save lives.
  • During the 50th year of Vidya Mandir a medical insurance scheme for retired, teaching and non-teaching staff was introduced at a gala celebration at the Madras Race Club.
  • Our Association also organises an inter – school double wicket cricket tournament in memory of an alumnus N.Gautham which is a two day affair and this week end culminates with a cricket match between the present school team and the old boys team.
